El 72 Rally Motul Costa Brava ya tiene fecha. La septuagésima segunda edición del rally más antiguo de España se celebrará del 14 al 16 de marzo de 2024, y mantendrá un año más la tradición de ser la primera prueba de los campeonatos de Europa y de España de Rallyes para Vehículos Históricos. Después de que la edición 2023 tuviera que colgar el cartel de “completo” por primera vez, con 240 equipos participantes, todo hace pensar que la de 2024 repetirá estas cifras multitudinarias.

Así, todavía a tres meses de la cita, ya han reservado plaza más de 150 equipos, más de la mitad de los cuales extranjeros. También se han anunciado los primeros detalles del itinerario de la prueba. La novedad más destacada es que el 72 Rally Motul Costa Brava vuelve a un formato de dos etapas de competición, divididas entre viernes 15 de marzo y sábado 16. En total, los equipos de Velocidad, Regularidad y Legend (exhibición) se enfrentarán a aproximadamente 160 kilómetros cronometrados, repartidos en 12 tramos.

De un tiempo hacia aquí, también es tradicional que el Rally Motul Costa Brava honore en cada edición un capítulo destacado de su rico legado. En esta ocasión, el gran protagonista será Michele Cinotto, que participará con un Audi Quattro en el 40º aniversario de su victoria en la prueba al volante de este mismo modelo.

La participación de Michele Cinotto en el 72 Rally Motul Costa Brava será celebrada con un homenaje al Audi Quattro, uno de los vehículos que más han marcado la historia de los rallys.

La organización preparará un acto especial donde este modelo será el protagonista absoluto, con la presencia de diferentes unidades de Audi Quattro venidas de toda Europa para participar en esta edición. Entre estos participantes no faltará el italiano “Zippo”, el vencedor de la edición 2023 del Rally Motul Costa Brava, que volverá a Girona para intentar repetir el triunfo.

Itinerario en dos etapas

El itinerario del 72 Rally Motul Costa Brava sigue el ejemplo de ediciones anteriores, pero con una novedad destacada. Después de valorar las opiniones de los pilotos, el recorrido se ha compactado en dos etapas, un formato más adecuado a los equipos. Así, todos los vehículos compartirán el mismo itinerario, tanto los de Velocidad del Europeo, como los de Velocidad y Regularidad de los campeonatos de España y Cataluña, además de la categoría Legend de exhibición.

El itinerario está formado por una selección de los tramos que son sinónimo del Costa Brava. La primera etapa constará de dos pasadas a Els Àngels, Santa Pellaia Curt y Salions – Sant Grau Curt, mientras que sábado se darán dos pasadas a Osor, Collsaplana y Cladells. Se ha buscado ofrecer los mejores tramos adaptados a los vehículos históricos y clásicos, con longitudes máximas de entre 15 y 16 km y un asfalto en condiciones perfectas.

La base del 72 Rally Motul Costa Brava estará ubicada en el hotel Best Western Premier CMC Girona. Fuera de los tramos, los epicentros de la actividad serán el parque cerrado y el podio, ubicados en el Pont de Pedret de Girona, y el Service Park, en Fornells de la Selva, donde se concentrarán varios alicientes para el público.

La primera etapa constarà de dues passades a Els Àngels, Santa Pellaia Curt i Salions – Sant Grau Curt, mentre que dissabte es faran dues passades a Osor, Collsaplana i Cladells. S’ha buscat oferir els millors trams adaptats als vehicles històrics i clàssics, amb longituds màximes d’entre 15 i 16 km i un asfalt en condicions perfectes.

La base del 72 Rally Motul Costa Brava estarà ubicada a l’hotel Best Western Premier CMC Girona. Fora dels trams, els epicentres de l’activitat seran el parc tancat i el podi, ubicats al Pont de Pedret de Girona, i el Service Park, a Fornells de la Selva, on es concentraran diversos al·licients per a tots els públics.
