• This event, one of the most important of the regularity of historic vehicles at European level, will be held until Sunday based on the Passeig del Mar in Palamós.

The adventure has begun. Punctual and starting at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, the teams participating in the XIX Rally Costa Brava Històric by Motul started their engines to compete in the first of the three stages that make up this qualifying event for the FIA ​​Trophy for Historic Regularity Rallies.

A large audience accompanied the departure of the participants, confirming the expectation generated by this edition, which grows in the number of entries (126), in female participation (10 female drivers and 27 female co-drivers), in new teams and in kilometers traveled. (more than 1,100 kilometers, half of which regularly).

Among the most applauded teams, the Motorcycle champions (Jordi Martí / Xavier Tibau) and Car champions (Carles Fortuny / Carles Jiménez), who this year have made the leap to the two-wheel category. Also the Nenas Team (Tere Armadans / Anna Vives), who lead the female representation included in the #MotorDona program. Emblematic vehicles from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s made the Palamós public enjoy a great show.

Thursday’s stage was made up of four sections, with a stop to have dinner and regain strength in the town of Sant Feliu de Buixalleu.

At the end of this first contact with the competition, maximum equality, with the first 15 classified teams separated by only 10 points difference. Among these, all the favorites to victory, waiting to reach the long stages on Friday and Saturday, each of them lasting approximately 12 hours. One of the highlights will be the Alpens – Ribes de Freser section, which will take place on Friday afternoon. With its 106 kilometers, it is the longest section in the history of this test.

 

 

Passeig del Mar and good weather, a guarantee of success

The favorable weather will make the starts of each stage look like never before from the Passeig del Mar in Palamós. In addition to seeing the vehicles of the XIX Rally Costa Brava Històric by Motul in action, spectators can enjoy Kuruma Motorsport’s driving simulators, discover Pura Vida Sportwear products and find out about the automotive novelties present at the Vehicle Expo-Fair new and used.

The big day will arrive on Saturday, with the start of the third and final stage, scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Before, at 12 noon, the parade of rally vehicles through the streets of Palamós is scheduled.

On Saturday, the vehicles participating in the newly created Costa Brava Històric “Rally-Sprint” modality will join the test, designed so that the teams can discover the rally by participating only in Saturday’s stage. It will be a party of the classic motor.

The rally will end very late on Sunday morning, with the awards ceremony scheduled for Sunday at 11 a.m. under the Passeig de Mar podium
