\u00b7 Extraordinary fight with Mir\u00f3-Matavacas and Deflandre-Lienne (Porsche)<\/em> The beautiful ending ceremony of the XIV Rally of the Costa Brava Hist\u00f2ric in the Passeig del Mar of Palam\u00f3s has coincided with the Catalan celebration of Sant Jordi. It has been the conclusion for a sporting event which has been a great organizational success for RallyClassics. On the other hand, the rally has also shown the Costa Brava areas where the event has passed through. Specially, Palam\u00f3s, an incredible scenery of the 2nd test of the European FIA Historic Sporting Rally Championship.<\/p>\n After an extraordinary three-way battle, Carles Fortuny-Carles Jim\u00e9nez (Lancia Beta Coup\u00e9) team have written their names down the winners list of the Rally Costa Brava Hist\u00f2ric. In their meritorious\u00a0performance they have had to fight hard with two other teams that have also demonstrated excellent quality: Carles Mir\u00f3-Ivan Matavacas (Porsche 911 SC) and Belgians Yves Deflandre-Patrick Lienne (Porsche 911 Carrera RS). The three winners of the Rally Costa Brava Hist\u00f2ric have carried out an impressive know-how lesson.<\/p>\n Carles Fortuny and Carles Jim\u00e9nez (Lancia Beta Coup\u00e9)<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n The first stage already showed\u00a0the leadership of Fortuny-Jim\u00e9nez. Although Palam\u00f3s slalom was dominated by Deflandre-Lienne and the second stage was for Vidal-Robledillo (Autobianchi), from the third stage until the end of the rally Fortuny-Jim\u00e9nez imposed their rhythm. The remaining provisional seats in the top five were for Deflandre-Lienne, Mir\u00f3-Matavacas, Jos\u00e9 Luis Marc\u00f3-M\u00f3nica P\u00e9rez-Zorrilla (Porsche 911 T) and Juan Luis Red\u00f3-Toni Moragas (Volvo Amazon), all of them well-known\u00a0specialists in the matter.<\/p>\n The second day, with 12 stage hours ahead, started with the remarkable performance of Mir\u00f3-Matavacas, L\u00f3pez-Ferres and the Greeks Kontaratos-Moustakas, but with Fortuny-Jim\u00e9nez controlling the situation permanently. The latest reached the neutralization of Viladrau with 3,6 points over Deflandre-Lienne and 7,8 over\u00a0Mir\u00f3-Matavacas.<\/p>\n Such a tight classification demands\u00a0incredible concentration. On the way to Puigcerd\u00e0, the fight continued with three teams with the best records, including Ren\u00fa-Bergel, Faixedas-Jordan and Carbonell-Riera, all of them, along with Lopez-Ferr\u00e9s. Already in second position, Mir\u00f3-Matavacas started pushing hard by topping the following four scores,\u00a0one of them tied with Fortuny-Jim\u00e9nez, arriving at 2.2 points ahead of their\u00a0rivals. Nevertheless, in the penultimate stage (Sant Pere) a very slight problem made them lose the momentum to battle for the victory. These last two stages were won by one of the teams that went the extra mile, Barrab\u00e9s-Juli\u00e0 (VW), who did not make it to the top then for just one point and a half.<\/p>\n At the prize giving ceremony held at Passeig\u00a0del Mar in Palam\u00f3s, the winners were awarded with two exclusive Porsche Design Eyewear Spain sunglasses. Aitor Ibarguren, representing the brand, delivered the Heritage P’8478 and P’8678 models to the winners.<\/p>\n Great victory in motorcycles for Oriol Nubiola-Ignasi Guardia (Honda Dominator), after a hard hand in hand with Susanna Permanyer-Pili Jim\u00e9nez (Honda Dominator), authors of an incredible performance. In ECOseries (the test was the 1st of its\u00a0championship), the win went to Xevi Ardite-Elsa Sererols (BMW 218D Active Tourer).<\/p>\n Ignasi Guardia (Yamaha)<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n The XIV Rally Costa Brava Hist\u00f2ric has a route of 942.9 km divided into two stages, with 445.4 km of regularity distributed in 29 sections of controlled regularity. The first day (Friday 21) the neutralization was located in Banyoles and the second day (Saturday 22) in Viladrau and Puigcerd\u00e0. The hub of the XIV Rally Costa Brava Hist\u00f2ric has been based in Palam\u00f3s and the headquarters of the organization during the four days have been located at\u00a0the Hotel Trias, just in front of the podium and the Parc Ferm\u00e9 in Passeig del Mar.<\/p>\n In addition to Palam\u00f3s-Costa Brava, the main sponsors of the XIV Rally Costa Brava Hist\u00f2ric have been Fecotur (Association for the Business Foment of Commerce and Tourism of Palam\u00f3s), Port Esportiu Marina Palam\u00f3s and Brugarol.
