{"id":35482,"date":"2022-10-30T18:54:16","date_gmt":"2022-10-30T17:54:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rallyclassics.club\/?p=35482"},"modified":"2022-10-31T13:38:50","modified_gmt":"2022-10-31T12:38:50","slug":"final-xix-rally-costa-brava-historic-by-motul","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rallyclassics.club\/en\/final-xix-rally-costa-brava-historic-by-motul\/","title":{"rendered":"The Belgians Deflandre \/ Lienne, winners of a memorable XIX Costa Brava Historic Rally by Motul"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_4_.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-35498 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_4__.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"669\" height=\"446\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_4__.jpg 900w, https:\/\/rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_4__-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_4__-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Yves Deflandre \/ Patrick Lienne<\/strong> (Porsche 911) narrowly defeated the Nenas Team of Tere Armadans \/ Anna Vives (Porsche 911) after a fierce battle over three legs and 23 stages.<\/li>\n<li>The hegemony in cars of <strong>Carles Fortuny \/ Carles Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong> is now transferred to bikes, after the victory achieved in their first participation on two wheels.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Passeig del Mar de Palam\u00f3s<\/strong> experienced three spectacular days of classic motoring, accompanied by fabulous weather and a massive attendance of fans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The XIX Rally Costa Brava Hist\u00f2ric by Motul is now history<\/strong>. 1,100 kilometers, 23 sections and three legs later, the participants arrived at the Passeig del Mar in Palam\u00f3s with the satisfaction of having completed a memorable edition of this event, one of the most important of the European Regularity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This nineteenth edition will be remembered both for the number of teams (126), and for their quality, as evidenced by the titanic battle that took place for first place in the standings. <strong>The participants highlighted the quality of the itinerary, the beauty of the roads and the high level of the organization, with a team made up of more than 70 people<\/strong>. During the stages, the participants not only enjoyed the competition, they were also able to regain strength in the different regroupings: in Sant Feliu de Buixalleu on Thursday&#8217;s stage, in the Ripoll Monastery on Friday&#8217;s stage, and on Saturday in Can Enric, restaurant with a Michelin star.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/1_.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-35464 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/1__.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"669\" height=\"446\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/1__.jpg 900w, https:\/\/rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/1__-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/1__-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The fans responded and filled the surroundings of the Palam\u00f3s starting podium in each of the stages<\/strong>, with special mention to Saturday, where the good weather and the different activities turned the fishing village into a celebration of the classic cars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among the main points of interest for fans, seeing exceptional machines such as <strong>Lancia Stratos, Renault 5 Turbo 2, BMW 3.0 CSL or Lancia Fulvia,<\/strong> among many others; but <strong>also to see in action the best regularity teams of both national and international level.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another great focus of attention was the female presence in the rally, as part of the #MotorDona program promoted by RallyClassics. 10 female drivers and 27 female co-drivers demonstrated once again that classic motorsports can be the perfect gateway for women in this sport. Among them, authentic motorsports professionals such as Rosa Romero, Christine GZ, Margot Llobera, Judit Florensa or Ares Lahoz.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_6_.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-35500 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_6__.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"669\" height=\"448\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_6__.jpg 898w, https:\/\/rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_6__-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_6__-768x514.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Deflandre \/ Lienne, a hard-fought victory<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite the length and intensity of the rally, with 550 kilometers of regularity sections, the participants had to wait until the last section to find out the identity of the winners of this edition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The night stages of the last section of the rally placed <strong>Yves Deflandre \/ Patrick Lienne (Porsche 911) in first position<\/strong>, thanks to a competition that they disputed bravely, finishing with 5 scratches in the final section. A sensational result for these great specialists of the regularity, but with a bitter taste, because the Nenas had led the standings during almost all the event. 2.7 penalty points (less than 3 seconds) separated the two teams, a proof of the high level of competitiveness that this modality has achieved in recent years. <strong>In third position, a great result for Joan Pedragosa \/ Josep Beltri (BMW E21)<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Highlight the participation in this edition of the internationally renowned singer Alvaro Soler,<\/strong> accompanied by Ramon Ma\u00f1as (Porsche 911 SC). The two musicians discovered regularity rallies in this test and made a rally in clear progression, finishing in 37th position and placing among the top 5 classified in some of the sections.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_18_.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-35510 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_18__.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"669\" height=\"444\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_18__.jpg 904w, https:\/\/rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_18__-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_18__-768x510.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Fortuny \/ Jim\u00e9nez, fifth victory in the race<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After achieving four victories in cars, three of which were consecutive, <strong>Carles Fortuny \/ Carles Jim\u00e9nez (Yamaha XT 600)<\/strong> decided to face the new challenge of participating in the two-wheel category. Little did they expect that in their first participation they would climb to the top of the podium, and that they would do so beating the current champions <strong>Jordi Mart\u00ed \/ Xavier Tibau (BMW R80GS) and Ferran Sacristan \/ Pep Mart\u00ed (BMW R100 GS).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_7_.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-35502 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_7__.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"669\" height=\"446\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_7__.jpg 900w, https:\/\/rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_7__-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/rallyclassics.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/rcbh_22_7__-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 669px) 100vw, 669px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Precisely their team, the Terra Negra, was the protagonist throughout the event with the <strong>tribute to Alex Rimbau<\/strong>.
