Alonso, copilot\u00e9 par Salvador Belzunces, avait r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 s\u2019imposer sur l\u2019\u00e9dition 2016 apr\u00e8s avoir r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9 d\u2019une p\u00e9nalit\u00e9 d\u2019une minute. Il s\u2019assurait ainsi la victoire absolue dans l\u2019\u00e9preuve inaugurale du Championnat d\u2019Europe FIA des rallyes historiques, en plus des Championnats d\u2019Espagne et de Catalogne de la sp\u00e9cialit\u00e9 Vitesse avec v\u00e9hicules historiques. Alonso sera de retour \u00e0 G\u00e9rone avec sa Ford Sierra Cosworth 4&#215;4 pour tenter de remonter sur la premi\u00e8re marche du podium.
