Les leaders \u00ab\u00a0Lucky\u00a0\u00bb-Pons, apr\u00e8s avoir obtenu le scratch sur le premier tron\u00e7on de la journ\u00e9e, \u00ab\u00a0Osor\u00a0\u00bb, ont cass\u00e9 une transmission de leur Lancia Delta sur \u00ab\u00a0Collsaplana\u00a0\u00bb et se sont vus contraints \u00e0 abandonner, laissant la position de privil\u00e8ge \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9quipage compos\u00e9 de Serge Cazaux-Maxime Vilmot (Ford Sierra Cosworth 4&#215;4), qui r\u00e9ussissait en plus le meilleur temps sur cette deuxi\u00e8me sp\u00e9ciale.<\/p>\n<p>Derri\u00e8re eux, Jean-Fran\u00e7ois et Aline Berenguer (BMW M3) ont saisi leur chance, et remport\u00e9 aussi bien le 4e que le 5e\u00a0tron\u00e7on, respectivement \u00ab\u00a0Grions\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0Cladells\u00a0\u00bb. Si bien qu\u2019en arrivant \u00e0 la neutralisation de G\u00e9rone, le couple fran\u00e7ais occupait la premi\u00e8re place, avec cependant 7\u00a0dixi\u00e8mes d\u2019avance seulement sur Cazaux-Vilmot (Ford).
