We are just two months away from the XIX Rally Costa Brava Històric by Motul. From 27th to 30th October, Palamós will once again be the epicenter of one of the best regularity rallyes and a qualifying event for the FIA Trophy for Historic Regularity Rallies.
After two editions held during the pandemic, the prospects for the rally are very good, with an increase in international interest and with different novelties designed so that teams and spectators enjoy the event more than ever.
Alex Romani, president of Club RallyCassics: “this 19th edition marks a turning point in the history of the Rally Costa Brava Històric. Firstly, because it is the first edition that we will be able to enjoy after the pandemic. Secondly, the organization has worked hard to listen to the participants and offer them a great adventure at the wheel of their classics, with everything they are looking for: more kilometres, new roads to discover, local gastronomy en route and more hours of driving, always through perfectly paved roads. Those who accept the challenge will enjoy a spectacular rally”.

Rally Costa Brava Històric, one of the greatest regularity events
For almost two decades, the Rally Costa Brava Històric has been established as one of the reference regularity events.
Not only the beautiful roads of the Costa Brava contribute to this, but also the idyllic location of the rally, based at the Hotel Trias, on the Palamós seafront promenade. The vehicles rest a few meters from the beach, offering postcard scenes, and the start of each stage is quite a spectacle, with the fans giving the heat that the teams need.
The format of the nineteenth edition of the rally maintains a four-day program, from Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th October. Thursday will be dedicated to technical and administrative scrutineerings, already on the Palamós promenade, and in the afternoon the first stage will be held, which will end around midnight.
On Friday it will be time for the second stage, which will last almost 12 hours, while on Saturday the third and final stage will be held, with the same duration, although before the start there will be the already traditional parade of the cars through the streets of Palamós, accompanied by different activities throughout the day. The prize giving ceremony will be on Sunday morning.
In total there will be more than 1,100 kilometres of route, half of which will be regularity, with a total of 23 regularity sections.
As traditional in the historic regularity events, the itinerary will be secret until the start of the rally, to guarantee equal conditions for all participants.
New discount program and Golden packs
With the aim of encouraging the participation of new teams, there is a new discount program. Teams participating in the rally for the first time, Junior teams (driver and co-driver totalling a maximum of 70 years), female drivers or co-driver (as part of the #MotorDona program to promote the participation of women in classic motorsports events), among many others will have important discounts in the rally registration.
There is as well the option to book a Golden pack for the rally. The pack includes registration, accommodation in the rally base and transportation of the vehicle from several countries around Europe. This is the best way to enjoy the rally.
A stunning entry list
With a bit less than two months before the event, more than 60 teams have already confirmed their participation in the XIX Rally Costa Brava Històric by Motul, a fact that allows us to anticipate one of the best entry lists in recent years.
Among them are many of the local specialists of the Regularity, the dominators of the rally in the most recent editions; in addition to a large group of international participants, coming from countries such as Greece, the United Kingdom, Belgium or France. Different surprises among those registered will be announced soon.
Among the participating vehicles are prestigious brands such as Lancia, Porsche, Alfa Romeo, BMW, Toyota, MG or Subaru. Any classic car manufactured until 1997 that complies with current regulations for driving on public roads can participate in the rally.
