The adventure of the Rally Costa Brava Històric has just begun
At precisely 6 PM, the teams received the itinerary of the first stage and tackled the first regularity sections on the roads of Alt Empordà in Girona. These early hours of driving serve as an appetizer for the two main stages that await them on Friday and Saturday, each nearly ten hours long.
Overall, the XXI Rally Costa Brava Històric features nearly 1,000 kilometres of route, half of them spread over more than 25 regularity sections.
On Friday 25 October the teams will face the highlight stage of this edition. Before that, at noon, they will join the Rally Costa Brava Parade, an itinerary that will take them through the streets of Empuriabrava and Castelló d’Empúries, bringing the rally experience closer to residents in the area. Starting at 3:30 p.m., the teams will set off for the second stage from the podium to undertake a marathon stage that will lead them, early in the morning, to Palamós. The third and final stage will commence from this seaside town on Saturday at 3:30 p.m., with the awards ceremony scheduled for Sunday at 11 a.m.
Classic vehicles from the 1950s to the 1990s
Motorsports enthusiasts will be able to experience a true museum on wheels at this event, featuring a diverse range of vehicles manufactured between the 1950s and 1990s. Nostalgic fans will enjoy the nearly twenty vehicles over fifty years old, such as the Renault 4/4, Mini Cooper, Lotus Elan, or Volvo Amazon. Iconic rally cars like the Renault 5, Porsche 911, Lancia Delta, BMW 2002, or Toyota Celica are also on display in an event designed for everyone to discover these automotive gems.
Historic regularity events are a discipline that emulate the spirit of the old rallies, with long routes designed for maximum enjoyment of these classic vehicles, both during the day and at night. The only requirement is that cars and motorcycles must be at least 25 years old and roadworthy. The itineraries remain a secret until the start of each stage, ensuring fair competition and equal chances of victory for all teams.
