• The third edition of RallyClassics Africa concluded in the Moroccan desert after five intense days of regularity, navigation, and dunes.
  • Dirk Van Rompuy – Jan Rosa (Toyota Land Cruiser HDJ80) claimed overall victory with a flawless and masterful performance, followed by Antonio Rius – Carles Jiménez (Seat Toledo Marathon) and Carles Bracons – Jordi Bustins (Toyota Land Cruiser HDJ80). Jordi Gené – Aran Sol (Seat Ateca Marathon) secured the top spot in the Open category.
  • Organized by RallyClassics, Josep Maria Servià, and Fina Román, the regularity rally-raid continues to grow in Morocco, once again bringing together some of the world’s leading specialists in classic off-road.

The excitement on the teams’ faces at the RallyClassics Africa 2025 finish line said it all. The regularity and navigation rally-raid once again established itself as a must-attend event for enthusiasts of off-road competition, both at the wheel of classic and modern vehicles.

As the organizers highlighted: “We end a third edition of which we couldn’t be more proud. This event offers a unique format in Africa, difficult and demanding for the teams, with the aim of serving as a school to face the Dakar Classic or the Africa Eco Race. Whoever performs well at RallyClassics Africa comes out prepared to win any competition.”

Across five legs and 1,000 kilometres, teams tackled more than forty sections, combining regularity zones, navigation challenges, and dune tests. The variety of terrain between the regions of Erfoud and Merzouga defined this edition: from fast, hard-packed tracks to sandy, highly technical oueds.

For the first time, all five stages featured dune tests, three of them set in the majestic Erg Chebbi.

A podium with big names in classic motorsports

This edition crowned a clear standout duo: Dirk Van Rompuy – Jan Rosa (Toyota Land Cruiser HDJ80). Supported by TH-Trucks Team, they delivered a near-perfect performance, winning two legs and executing an almost flawless navigation.

On his third attempt, Belgian driver Van Rompuy claimed overall victory, alongside co-driver Jan Rosa, current winner of the Dakar Classic, who repeated success in Morocco after also claiming victory in 2024.

Second place went to the legendary Seat Toledo Marathon driven by Antonio Rius – Carles Jiménez. Representing SEAT Históricos, the pair once again delivered a solid performance, winning three legs. However, the demanding navigation of day 3 ultimately prevented them from contesting the top step of the podium.

Completing the podium were Carles Bracons – Jordi Bustins (Toyota Land Cruiser HDJ80).

Van Rompuy – Rosa also won the Classic Pre-1997 category, while Evangelos Bersis – Ricky Rickler (Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution) took honours in Classic Pre-2005.

In the Open category, reserved for modern vehicles, victory went to Jordi Gené – Aran Sol (Seat Ateca Marathon), marking another success for SEAT Históricos, which also achieved fifth place overall with an almost standard-production SUV.

The SSV category was won by Amy Lerner – Sara Bossaert (Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo), a team that also claimed the MotorDona trophy for best all-female team. Individually, American Amy Lerner was the best-ranked female driver, while Tabatha Romón was recognized as the top female co-driver.

A notable innovation this year was the introduction of a trophy for the team that navigated the Erg Chebbi dunes most efficiently, covering the shortest distance between waypoints.

Moroccan crew Ali Oubassidi – Hanane Amraoui (Can-Am X3) claimed this award, showcasing their knowledge of the terrain. They also won the trophy for best local team, narrowly edging out compatriots Brahim Ettaiek – Said Ahnana (Polaris RZR XP 1000) by just a few points.

A benchmark event looking to the future

This edition was the most international in RallyClassics Africa’s history, featuring teams from 10 countries across 3 continents, all drawn equally by the sporting challenge and the breathtaking Moroccan landscapes.

During the prize-giving ceremony at the Hotel Xaluca in Erfoud, the organization expressed gratitude to sponsors and partners for their continued trust in RallyClassics Africa, with special recognition for KH-7, the main sponsor of the rally-raid.

Spain’s leading brand in kitchen cleaners and stain removers once again reaffirmed its commitment to the classic motorsport events organized by RallyClassics.

The ceremony concluded with the announcement of the dates for the fourth edition of RallyClassics Africa, scheduled from September 11 to 16, 2026, promising another unmissable challenge for regularity off-road enthusiasts.
