• From 5 to 7 March 2026, Spain’s oldest rally will once again become the first major historic rally event of the European season and will mark the beginning of a new era for the FIA European Historic Rally Championship.
  • For the first time, iconic Kit Car and WRC vehicles up to the year 2000 will be eligible to compete and score points at the rally, further enhancing its quality and appeal.
  • In its second year of partnership with KH-7, Spain’s leading kitchen cleaning and stain-removal brand, the Costa Brava will feature an itinerary that brings together all the classic stages of the region, with Girona as the host city.

The 74 Rally KH-7 Costa Brava is already revving its engines with a series of top-level ingredients that make it a must-attend event for motorsport enthusiasts. The seventy-fourth edition of Spain’s oldest rally, organised by RallyClassics, will take place from 5 to 7 March 2026.

This year, it will not only be the first major European historic rally of the season, but also the starting point of a new era. In 2026, the FIA European Historic Rally Championship (FIA EHRC) will feature three overall championships: Pre-1992, Pre-2000 and Gravel. The 74 Rally KH-7 Costa Brava will open the FIA EHRC Pre-1992 and Pre-2000 championships, while also scoring towards the Spanish Historic Rally Championship (CERH) and the Catalan Historic Rally Championships.

The introduction of the new FIA EHRC Pre-2000 category will allow iconic Kit Car and WRC vehicles — which defined the history of rallying (and the Rally Costa Brava itself) during the second half of the 1990s — to compete and score points at the 74 Rally KH-7 Costa Brava. While the rally cannot grow further in terms of entries — more than 200 teams are expected — it will undoubtedly increase in quality thanks to these new categories.

Major international names from the world of motorsport are therefore expected, following in the footsteps of the previous edition, which featured global stars such as Jari-Matti Latvala (event winner and current European champion) and Romain Dumas.

At present, more than 130 vehicles are already registered, including spectacular Peugeot 306 Maxi Kit Cars, as well as Lancia Rally 037, BMW M1 Procar, Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 Evo 2, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo, and several BMW M3 and Porsche 911, among many others. A true moving museum of rally history in action, across both Sporting and Regularity categories.

As tradition dictates, the 74 Rally KH-7 Costa Brava will pay tribute to another chapter in the event’s rich sporting heritage. The official poster image for the 2026 edition features Fabrizio Tabaton’s Lancia Delta S4, winner of the 1986 edition, forty years ago.

This seventy-fourth edition also marks the second year of collaboration with KH-7. Spain’s leading brand in kitchen cleaning and stain-removal products reaffirms its commitment to sport, supporting the rally as well as renowned athletes such as Laia Sanz, Isidre Esteve, Edgar Canet, chef Nandu Jubany, and the KH-7 Ecovergy Team truck, all of whom compete in the Dakar 2026. KH-7 is also the main sponsor of the RallyClassics Africa rally-raid in Morocco, as well as numerous cycling and running events throughout Spain.

A Classic Itinerary, Guaranteed Emotions

The international reputation of the Rally Costa Brava is largely built on its legendary stages. These are roads perfectly suited to historic vehicles: well paved, technical and without excessive speeds. The itinerary of this seventy-fourth edition preserves the full essence of the event, featuring all of its iconic stages. Sporting participants will receive the starting signal on Thursday evening with the popular night stage at the Santuari dels Àngels, just outside Girona.

On Friday, the regularity teams will join the competition, and all participants will complete two loops through the Els Àngels, Santa Pellaia curt and Salions – Sant Grau curt stages, with a total distance greater than that of the previous edition. Saturday will focus on the stages around Sant Hilari Sacalm, with two loops through Sant Miquel de Cladells, Collsaplana and Sant Hilari – Osor.

In total, Sporting competitors will contest 13 stages over 157.1 timed kilometres, while regularity participants will compete over 12 stages.

The event will have a dual epicentre. On the one hand, Girona will host the parc fermé and the starts of each of the three legs from the podium. This is also where the prize-giving ceremony will take place on Saturday, 7 March.

In Fornells de la Selva, the popular Service Park will be installed, where vehicles will regroup on Friday and Saturday between the two daily loops through the stages. In addition to watching the teams at work maintaining their automobiles, spectators will be able to enjoy an event village offering more activities and entertainment than ever before, with full details to be announced shortly.

With all these elements in place, the 74 Rally KH-7 Costa Brava is set to deliver another unmissable edition in Girona from 5 to 7 March 2026.
