Enjoy, learn and challenge yourself. Under these premises, the organizing club RallyClassics created last year a new regularity rally-raid in Morocco open to both classic and modern off-road vehicles. After the great success of the first edition, it was confirmed that this event has arrived to position itself as the reference rally-raid to prepare for the Dakar Classic and the Africa Eco Race.
Now more than 40 teams are ready for the second edition. RallyClassics Africa 2024 will take place between 12 and 18 September in Morocco and will once again offer a demanding route and unbeatable landscapes between the towns of Erfoud and Merzouga, always prioritizing the safety and comfort of the participants.

For Alex Romani, president of the Club RallyClassics, “we are really excited by the reception that the teams and competitors have given to this new adventure that we created in 2023. RallyClassics Africa has already established itself as the ideal event to discover and practice the off-road regularity in Morocco, regardless of whether they are amateur teams or names with great experience arriving from the United States, Argentina and almost a dozen European countries. We can’t wait to start the engines of this edition.”
RallyClassics Africa 2024 will offer a 5-stage route, and an itinerary composed by 1000 kilometres, 700 of which will be dedicated to regularity zones. The roadbook has been designed in collaboration with Dakar experts Josep Maria Servià and Fina Román, who explain that the route has been designed with an increasing degree of difficulty as the days go by and with dune navigation already from the first stage.
A high-quality entry list
41 teams will participate in this second edition of the competition, practically doubling the number of entrants compared to last year. Among them, the legendary Seat Toledo Marathon stands out, a vehicle that is part of the collection of Seat Históricos and that will participate again in RallyClassics Africa after winning in 2023 with ex-WRC driver Antonio Rius at the wheel. Likewise, the Spanish brand will once again participate with three Seat Ateca Marathon, vehicles prepared specifically for this event.
The current winners of the Dakar Classic, Carlos Santaolalla and Jan Rosa (Toyota Land Cruiser) will also compete at the event for the first time, as well as fifteen teams with experience in the Dakar Classic, such as Dirk van Rompuy/Chris Goris, Asier Duarte/Luís Barbero, Vincent Tourneur/Laurent Bovis, Matías Rodríguez/Sandra Guasch, among others. Many of these teams will be assisted by the structures of TH-Trucks R-Team and Pedregà Team, both with a long list of Dakar successes.
This event allows teams to enjoy the off-road regularity with all-terrain vehicles of all ages. This means that the entry list includes everything from classic Lada Niva, Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Mitsubishi Pajero Evo to more modern 4x4s such as the Mitsubishi L200, Porsche Cayenne and Toyota Hilux, and even SSV vehicles, 4×4 and 6×6 trucks. However, the Pre-1997 category will continue to be the most popular in an event geared towards classic off-road.
The female presence will increase significantly in this edition with the participation of five female drivers including the American Amy Lerner, the Moroccan Jawhara Bennani (double winner of the Rallye des Gazelles) and the Spanish journalist Judit Florensa co-driven by the experienced Rosa Romero.
Pablo Moreno Huete, co-driver and winner of the 2024 Dakar Rally in the Challenger category alongside Cristina Gutiérrez, as well as winner of RallyClassics Africa 2023 alongside Antonio Rius, will also be in Morocco supporting the organization.
An event designed to enjoy the experience
The rally-raid has relaxed schedules and daily stages of approximately 6 hours, all designed to allow free afternoons to prepare for the following stages and enjoy an exciting region. The base of this edition will be located at the Hotel Xaluca in Erfoud and one of the highlights will be the stage that will end in the desert haimas under the Great Dune of Merzouga.
