The XIV edition of the Rally Costa Brava Històric, the first one based in the town of Palamós, will take place between 20 and 23 April 2017 and will be scoring for the “FIA Trophy for Historic Regularity Rallies”, the European Championship of this specialty , which, every year, attracts the best specialists in the world.
Following the announcement of the change of venue, the organizer, RallyClassics, has already revealed some of the details that will make this new edition more attractive. Palamós will host the verifications, the ‘parc fermé’, the podium and all the acts regarding the arrival and the delivery of prizes, which will coincide with the celebrated day in Catalunya de Sant Jordi (April 23). In addition, Palamós will host the headquarters of the rally – the base will be located at the well-known Hotel Trias – and the accommodation of all the participating teams. Furthermore, as a novelty, one of the sections that will compose the itinerary, secret until shortly before the rally starts, will be in show format and will be developed in this beautiful village from Baix Empordà.
Subsections in Banyoles and Puigcerdà
This test of regularity for classic vehicles will be very complete, with a route forecast of about 1,000 km divided into 2 stages (4 sections), half of which mileage will correspond to sections of regularity spread over several timed to be disputed between the provinces of Girona and Barcelona.
The fact that the pilots will have a long itinerary ahead becomes obvious as during the two days of the rally the organizer will make the itinerary pass through two very famous towns because of their lakes: Banyoles and Puigcerdà. Nevertheless, this is not only a competitive event, but the goal is also to travel around precious landscapes and to places with tradition and good gastronomy to make the teams coming from all over Europe to know the country.
Registration opens on November 21st
Teams wishing to participate in this innovative edition of the Rally Costa Brava Històric will be able to register their entries from Monday, November 21 at www.rallyclassics.org. The aim of the organizer is to reach the number of 100 participants. For this reasion, Premium packages will be offered and the fidelity will be rewarded with discounts to those who formalise their enrollment faster.
