Today, at 15.30h the XIV Rally Costa Brava Històric has started on the Passeig del Mar de Palamós, the second scoring event for the FIA ​​Trophy of Historical Rallies of the specialty, organized By RallyClassics. A total of 95 teams have started the test, including 11 motorcycles and 8 ECOseries cars that will only play the stage on Saturday.

With an extraordinary participation, in quantity but also in quality, the XIV Rally Costa Brava Històric brings together the best of the regular categories of Spain and the rest of Europe, led by the winning teams of the two previous editions, Belgian Yves Deflandre- Patrick Lienne (nº 1 / Porsche 911, 1972) and the Catalans Víctor Sagi-Víctor Sagi (nº 2 / Porsche 911, 1968), who have followed on the podium the three-time winner of the Rally Monte Carlo Historique, Belgians José Lareppe-Lieven David (nº 3 / Opel Ascona, 1975) the current duo European champion of this discipline, the Luxemburgers Christian Crucifix-Joseph Lambert (nº 4 / Porsche 911, 1985); And one of the regularity winners in the past 65 Moritz Costa Brava Rally, Carles Miró-Ivan Matavacas (nº 5 / Porsche 911, 1981).

The route will have a total close to 950 km divided into two stages, with a total of 29 sections of regularity totaling 445.4 km controlled. In the first stage, which is being disputed at the moment, the itinerary has 458 km, of which 229 are regularly distributed in 14 sections. On the route the cars will regroup in Banyoles. The second stage, which will run tomorrow Saturday, will consist of 484.9 km of which 216 will be regularly distributed in 15 sections. On that day, the regroupings will be located in Viladrau and Puigcerdà.

All the base and infrastructure is centered in Palamós and the base of the organization is in Hotel Trias, where you can also visit a photographic exhibition about the history of the Costa Brava Rally. In addition, in the Passeig del Mar twice a qualifying slalom is disputed for the classification, one has taken place today just after the start of the rally, and the second pass will take place this Saturday at 11.30h, just when the second stage starts.
