The Rally Moritz Costa Brava has been awarded by the Catalan Sports Foundation in the category CATALAN SPORTS IN THE WORLD.
The organization RallyClassics will receive this award as a recognition for improving the presence of Catalan sports internationally, and the prize giving will be tomorrow evening at the Antigua Fábrica Damm.
The Rally Costa Brava is considered the “world class” of the classic rallies, with the highest recognition of the FIA (International Automobile Federation).
This is the oldest test in Spain, with 67 editions, the last 8 in Girona.
With 184 teams participating (66 foreign teams, from 18 different countries), it has broken a new historic record, which has helped 450 volunteers.
It has been seen by 928 million people worldwide, with a media impact valued at 90.1 million euros.
The Catalan Sports Foundation argues that “the great level of the candidates’ projects has once again been exceptional and demonstrates the great involvement of people and entities to positively transform Catalan society through sport and the enormous quality and potential of the Catalan sports network.
For this reason, the Nomination Assessment Committee, formed by representatives of the sponsoring companies and the Fundació Catalana per a l’Esport, met in two extraordinary sessions on May 16 and June 19, as the level this year has been very high.
Congratulations to the winning projects and congratulations to all the entities that have submitted your candidature, for the work done and for the commitment shown with the aim of a better society.”
